AOUTS is a youth-led, anti-racism project promoting social inclusion, connection, belonging and education based on Gumbaynggirr Country in NSW

AOUTS includes a project anthem and film clip, alongside cultural awareness activities, anti-racism training and other arts-based activities.

Past Projects

Gunbalanya, Arnhem Land (2021)

Outcomes:
Whole Community Concert, 11 track EP of local bands.
Duration:
3 weeks
Impact:
Increased school attendance and employment outcomes for local music leaders.

Maningrida, Arnhem Land

Outcomes:
2 x Programs and 1 x Community Concert
Duration:
6 weeks
Impact:
Manage recording studio setup included ordering and shipping all studio equipment. GTM filmmaker made documentaries for Morning Star ceremony & Babbaba Women’s Centre.

Kaltukatjara (Docker River), Central Desert

Outcomes:
37 original tracks recorded and mixed and a Community Concert for local bands. Unearthed Docker River Band.

3 weeks
Impact:
52 individuals attended adult music workshops over 2 weeks, producing a collection of orginal music.

Grow the Music does not just ‘fly in and fly’ out. They commit to the long term support of the musicians and singers they mentor. They create leaders within the communities through their ongoing connections.
